Terms for janazah announcements
Last updated: 21 October 2026
1. What is this about?
Via muadhin.nl/djannaza, anyone can announce a janazah prayer in the Netherlands. Announced janazah prayers are visible on our website and on all Muadhin screens.
2. What may you submit?
- Only a real janazah prayer, with correct details.
- Only with the permission of the family of the deceased.
- No home addresses, phone numbers or other personal details of the bereaved in the public fields.
- No advertising, offensive or incorrect content.
3. What do we do?
- We may refuse, edit or remove an announcement without giving a reason.
- We may choose to check announcements before they become visible.
- All details of an announcement, including your name and phone number, are automatically deleted 2 hours after the prayer. If no time is given with the announcement (for example "after Dhuhr"), this happens at the end of that day.
4. Is an announcement incorrect?
Is an announcement incorrect, or does the family want an announcement removed? Click "Incorrect? Have it edited or removed" on the announcement or email info@muadhin.nl. We respond as quickly as possible and remove the announcement if necessary.
5. Your details
Your name and phone number are never shown. We only use them to contact you if we need to check something about the announcement. You can read more about this in our privacy policy.
6. Liability
The person submitting the announcement is responsible for the accuracy of the details. We do our best to remove incorrect announcements quickly, but cannot guarantee that all announcements are correct.
